Join our dynamic legal team in Columbus, OH, and contribute to a professional environment where quality service and excellence are our priorities. We are currently seeking a dedicated Legal Secretary/Paralegal to support our attorneys and help maintain our commitment to high client satisfaction.

The Legal Secretary/Paralegal will be an integral part of the team, supporting attorneys in managing their operational and administrative needs. The role requires a proactive approach to balancing multiple work demands, a keen attention to detail, and a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Manage daily schedules and administrative needs of attorneys including coordinating travel, scheduling conferences, teleconferences, and depositions, and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings, and filing requirements.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare and edit legal documents such as letters, memoranda, briefs, pleadings, agreements, and contracts from forms, original materials, or dictation. Utilize MS Excel and PowerPoint for creating spreadsheets and presentations.
  • File Management: Open, organize, and maintain client files and legal documents with consistency and precision.
  • Billing and Reporting: Review monthly billing pro-formas for accuracy. Perform inquiries and edits related to clients, matters, and timekeepers.
  • Communication: Handle telephone calls, take accurate messages, set up video conferences, and maintain clear communication with clients, court reporters, and internal staff.
  • Expense Management: Process reimbursements, expense reports, and check requests efficiently.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet research, and document management systems.
  • Advanced experience in calendar management through Outlook.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships and work cohesively with team members.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing conditions with a professional demeanor.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a legal secretary or paralegal role.
  • Experience with electronic filing and court dockets.
  • Must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
