As a leading, family-owned, construction company in Columbus, Ohio, committed to delivering high-quality service and rapidly growing we’re currently seeking a motivated, and reliable Estimator to join our established team.

The ideal candidate will possess concrete experience, demonstrating strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and will play a crucial role in our project planning and execution process. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing competitive bids, and collaborating with various clients, vendors, and other team members to ensure the success of all projects.

Responsibilities:

• Retrieve electronic bidding documents for commercial estimates.
• Ensure comprehensive understanding of job plans, specifications, and the overall scope of work.
• Quantify concrete and rebar material takeoffs for the identified scope of work.
• Manipulate and adapt unit pricing to align with scope of work requirements.
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor bids, incorporating relevant proposals into the estimate.
• Adjust the total estimate based on template unit prices, considering material, labor, equipment, overhead, and profit.
• Write, shape, and effectively communicate project clarifications, inclusions, and exclusions.
• Collaborate with clients during each bid to gather all necessary details for accurate estimating.
• Review cost history on completed projects and apply suitable prices and labor factors to materials, equipment, and formwork.
• Prepare comprehensive job notes for new projects, covering estimates, proposals, scope, bid assumptions, schedules, vendor quotes, specifications, and correspondence.
• Maintain and update bid tracking, lead tracking, and job closing spreadsheets.
• Actively communicate and collaborate with clients to address any queries and ensure accuracy in the estimating process.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in estimating and construction software.
• Strong mathematical aptitude for volume-type calculations.
• Experience in client and vendor communication.
• Experience in detailed written communication.
• College degree or 5+ years of concrete experience.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial construction estimating, preferably in concrete.
• Proficiency in understanding, reading, and interpreting plans/project drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
• Proficient in using Gmail, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work well with deadlines.

Salary, Benefits, & Additional Details:

• $65,000.00 - $70,000.00+ (Negotiable depending on experience)
